This image shows the British Aerospace Systems Hawk training aircraft known as the Hawk 127 in Australian service.

This machine is used to train fighter and strike pilots in fast jet techniques including gunnery and dog fighting.

The aircraft is capable of air-to-air refuelling and has four wing hardpoints for the mounting of stores and weapons. It is also capable of carrying the AIM-9M Sidewinder air-to-air missile.

This aircraft can be customised as artwork on demand. At left are some examples showing the standard paint scheme (above) in two tone air superiority grey; the special 'Cougar' paint scheme of No 76 Squadron RAAF and the special 60 year anniversary paint scheme of No 79 Squadron RAAF; the two squadrons that operate the aircraft.

Various items can be added, deleted or modified on request such as:

  • Air-to-air refuelling probe;
  • Tail markings for the two squadrons;
  • Special paint schemes as shown;
  • Different tail numbers;
  • Long range fuel tank.
