"Squadron Leader Trevor Beams has served over 40 years in the Royal Australian Air Force as a full time member... and now as a reserve officer.

After joining the service in 1970, Trevor served in various fields before qualifying as an Air Traffic Controller. In fact, it was the then Flight Lieutenant Trevor Beams who instructed me in the vagaries and black art of air traffic control when I was an Officer Cadet undergoing flight training at RAAF Base Williams, at Point Cook in 1991!

Trevor has a wealth of experience in the ATC field and in the Air Force in general and also fills the role of Base Aviation Safety Officer.

During 2006, Conway Bown deployed to the Middle East as the Australian Army's Official War Artist, what the US Armed Forces call Combat Artist. This website features the artwork created during this project as part of the Australian Army's Official Art Scheme.
